Delta 8, Weed, and My Journey to a Healthier Life
Delta 8, Weed, and My Journey to a Healthier Life
From the ages of 18 to 22, I engaged in heavy use of Delta 8, weed, and even Delta 8, sometimes even around the clock for days or weeks. I#39;d like to share my experience and the lessons I learned along the way.
Heavy Cannabis Use and Its Impact
During my younger years, heavy cannabis use certainly affected my memory and cognitive function. However, there are reasons to be hopeful—I have now quit and am pleased to share how much my life has improved.
I used to suffer from frequent coughing when smoking Delta 8, which increased my smoking frequency when compared to cigarettes. Delta 8 hardly contains THC, providing only a head high and not a physical euphoria.
The consequences from heavy cannabis use may not always be permanent, but it is crucial to take steps towards recovery. Many of these negative effects can improve with time. Quitting is the key to recovery, and my journey is a testament to that.
My Smoking Habit and Its Difficulties
I used to smoke a lot and believed that I would never be able to quit. However, I finally managed to quit and no longer experience cravings or the desire to smoke weed. I understood the harm it had caused and how it jeopardized my career prospects, but despite this, I still have hope for a positive future.
I used to love everything about smoking weed, from learning to control the munchies to finding terpenes that helped with focus. I believed I needed it to be more creative and skillful, but in reality, I was just physically dependent on it. I was like a slave to weed, even though I didn#39;t want to admit it to myself. I never felt satisfied with my lifestyle and often felt like something was missing, and wasting too much time every day. On top of that, cannabis significantly impacted my ability to express emotions and reach my full potential.
Recovery and Positive Changes
Now, I exercise more, am fit, and eat healthier, no longer relying on weed. I no longer force my emotions to be happy or uplifted all the time, which has made me less depressed and stressed. Without weed, I can actually enjoy life again. I also saved a significant amount of money and regained a sense of control over my time and choices.
My cannabis use also affected my sleep patterns, with THC causing me to have fewer dreams and shorter REM sleep cycles. This highlights the importance of adequate sleep for overall health. My focus has significantly improved, even though issues have been present since my childhood. I was diagnosed with anxiety disorders and Cognitive Disengagement Syndrome, but now I am thriving.
The Risks of Substance Use and Dependence
The more you use any addictive substance, the more physically dependent your body becomes. This makes quitting extremely challenging. THC, a key component of cannabis, is indeed addictive and leads to physical dependence, which can cause withdrawal symptoms and increased tolerance when you try to quit.
Breaking the cycle involves gradually reducing your usage instead of abruptly stopping. Habits developed through long-term use can be challenging to break, but forming new, healthy ones can make the process more manageable. Incorporating physical activities, better nutrition, and strategies to combat cravings may help.
Detoxification and Nutrition
Detoxification after quitting cannabis can be supported by antioxidants, available through herbal tea and certain foods. Mint, rosemary, hibiscus, ginger, oregano, and marjoram are particularly beneficial for their antioxidant properties. Berries and other vegetables and fruits high in antioxidants can aid in detoxification and overall health.
Additionally, tracking calories and maintaining a healthy diet can help in managing weight and energy levels.
My Spiritual Journey and Healing
I first tried weed at around age 19. My journey to recovery also included a spiritual one. I initially had doubts about the existence of God but eventually found peace through my faith in Jesus Christ. I turned to Him for healing and to help me quit drugs and recover from my health conditions.
After a period of nearly two months without pain when I was deeply devoted to Jesus, I returned to my old ways, losing trust in Him. Consequently, my pain returned. Only when I reassured my faith did I experience healing again. This journey inspired me to share my testimony of how faith can bring true freedom and healing.
