Evolving Lives: Reflections and Transformations Over a Year
Evolving Lives: Reflections and Transformations Over a Year
Each passing year brings new opportunities and challenges. My life has experienced changes not only on a yearly basis but also within those 12 months indelibly marked by the arrival of the Corona pandemic. This journey reflects deeply on personal growth, adaptability, and self-improvement.
Life Before and After: A Year of Transitions
Looking back, my life was a series of ups and downs, much like any other person's journey. Recalling the past year, I can vividly remember the days when my life was significantly impacted by the global lockdown. This period allowed me to delve into new learning experiences and personal transformations.
Professional Growth: Turning Points and Achievements
Language Processing and Deep Learning - A year ago, my struggles with Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Deep Learning were evident. However, through rigorous practice, I have become quite proficient. This journey highlights the importance of persistence and continuous learning in transforming skills and careers.
Global Tech Conference - My future perspective includes speaking at a global tech conference about 'Artificial Intelligence and Healthcare.' This speaks to the significant advancements and potential of AI in the medical field, showcasing my professional growth and the evolving role of technology in healthcare.
Personal Growth: Mind, Body, and Spirit
The past year has been a period of immense personal transformation. I used to be lazy, but after the lockdown, an active lifestyle now forms a key part of my routine. Every day, I spend considerable time working out, often accompanied by my cat who joins me on my treadmill post-session.
Fighting COVID-19 and Community Support - Last year, I helped individuals during the lockdown. This year, I have taken it a step further by providing food to COVID patients and reducing reliance on food delivery services. This shift in focus and action demonstrates my commitment to community support and the importance of immediate interventions during crises.
Reading and Learning: A Bedtime Ritual
A significant change in my routine last year was switching from spending time on a laptop screen before bed to reading books. This simple act has brought immense joy and knowledge into my life, making each day more fulfilling. A great book to start with is one that inspires and challenges you.
Charity and Giving Back
Fiscal responsibility has also been a part of my personal journey. Last year, I had limited means to donate to causes. However, now that things are better, I contribute to supporting stray animal shelters. Each small achievement in life brings a smile, and supporting such causes is a rewarding aspect of my newfound prosperity.
Challenges and Adaptations Post-Lockdown
While the changes have been positive, the post-lockdown period has also brought its fair share of challenges. Previously, I had to commute daily to an office, resulting in long hours of travel and a stressful routine. With a job switch, I have saved a considerable amount of time previously wasted on commuting, allowing me to focus on personal development and upskilling.
Additionally, pre-pandemic travel was a significant part of my life, with frequent trips to different states. The current lockdown has forced me to pause, but I have matured with the realization that instinct should yield to practicality in such crisis situations.
During the lockdown, I picked up various skills, including cooking, which many others also did. From homemade burgers and pizzas to Dalgona coffee trends, mocktails, and even innovative Maggi creations, the creativity and joy in culinary exploration continue to be a highlight of my life.
Physical Health: The Bane of Aftermath
While the lockdown brought numerous positive shifts, it has also led to some health issues. Desiring to maintain my fitness routine, I resumed walking but faced challenges. Out-of-touch and unaccustomed to long walks, I developed blisters and burns across my feet, making it difficult to walk properly.
Another challenge involves my energy bills. With extended screen time and less physical activity, my electricity consumption has risen, highlighting the need for balanced lifestyle choices.
In conclusion, the past year has been a period of incredible transformations, both positive and negative. However, these changes have fueled my growth and reshaped my priorities. The key is to embrace these changes with resilience, adaptability, and a mindset of continuous improvement.
