Understanding the Mystery of Consciousness

The question of how the human brain produces consciousness has puzzled scientists, philosophers, and thinkers for centuries. Consciousness, our strong and intensely intimate feeling of ALIVENESS or INTELLIGENCE, appears to be a non-materialistic LIGHT that is self-luminous and self-evident. It simply knows itself without relying on external proofs or corroborations from any external authority.

Similar to the musk deer searching for the fragrance of musk, consciousness emerges in all conscious creatures, making it a subject of ongoing research. Yet, despite its importance, the true essence of consciousness remains a mystery to many due to its intangible and subjective nature.

The Distinction Between Mind and Brain

It is important to distinguish between the two: the brain is an organ that houses the mind. Brain activity can be likened to the physical manifestation of thought, perception, emotion, determination, memory, and imagination. The brain is where these processes take place, but the essence of the mind—the inner experiencing reality—cannot be reduced to mere neurological activity. The mind is the brain in action, constantly engaging in thought and perception.

The mind has two components: mind and awareness. Awareness is often described as a glowing ball of light. The mind, on the other hand, is vast, with different areas such as anger, jealousy, food, sex, happiness, joy, science, and art. The ball of awareness can travel within this mental space, illuminating specific areas of the mind, making us conscious of them. This constant shifting of awareness throughout the day can lead to distractions, but by focusing on a single task, we can regain control.

Training the Brain to Enhance Consciousness

To enhance consciousness, one must continuously challenge and train the mind. Like physical training, brain training requires consistent practice and awareness. Just as one would perform additional repetitions to flex muscles, the brain needs to undergo specific exercises to develop its strength and adaptability. Here are some effective techniques:

Mind Control Techniques: These include activities that push the limits of comfort. Some examples include using your non-dominant hand to brush your teeth or make phone calls, and deliberately taking cold baths. These practices make the subconscious mind uncomfortable and force it to adapt. Similarly, when the mind suggests taking a break, engage in physical activities like walking or running. When the mind encourages social media use, turn off the phone and steer in the opposite direction. Channeling Multiple Stimuli: Just as one does not invest all of their money in a single company, one should not focus on a single exercise every day. Incorporate various styles of mental and physical activities to ensure that the mind does not get comfortable and complacent in any one setting. Awareness of Actions: Be conscious of your thoughts, movements, and actions. Regularly observe and reflect on how you interact with the world, and make deliberate choices to align your actions with your goals and values. Developing Self-Awareness: Create an elevated level of self-awareness to control the mind. Regular self-reflection and mindfulness practices can help in understanding and managing your thoughts and emotions.

By consistently applying these techniques, one can cultivate a deeper sense of ALIVENESS and INTELLIGENCE, moving closer to the self-realization of the true essence of consciousness.
