Facing Bullying: A Story of Beauty and Perseverance

Introduction:

Is it abnormal to feel like life isn't worth living because one identifies as ugly? In this story, I'll share my life journey to help others realize that no matter how one looks, there will always be bullies out there trying to make them feel inadequate.

Misleading Beauty and Hidden Bullies

For as long as I can remember, I was always told I was naturally pretty, with my face being the standout feature. Female friends complimented me, saying, 'You have such a pretty face, and all this without any makeup. Guys will always love you; you are very lucky.' This positivity, however, was not the reality. My bullies, mostly men and guys, were the loudest voices in a society that continually emphasized physical beauty as a key determinant of worth.

Bullying in a Conservative Society

Living in a conservative society, I have faced relentless bullying. Contrary to what some might believe, physical beauty is not an insurmountable shield against harassment. My youth and natural beauty have only amplified the agony, as these bullies create a mob around me, calling me names and attempting to strip me of my self-esteem. It's not just psychological abuse; it's a constant battle to maintain my self-worth against such disingenuous attacks.

Entitlement and Injustice

The bullies' behavior reveals a toxic entitlement. They feel they deserve the best because of their appearance, yet they lack the self-awareness to appreciate others for who they are. I am treated with disdain because I don't fit their narrow definition of beauty, and their unfair treatment is a testament to the societal prejudice that values conformity over individuality.

Short Answers to Persistent Questions

Just because one is physically beautiful or handsome, it doesn't guarantee immunity from bullies. My own experiences and the stories of other women like me reinforce that there are far too many bullies in the world. Even those who are unattractively beautiful can be targeted, further highlighting the need to value depth of character over superficial beauty.

Conclusion: Embrace Your Uniqueness

No matter how you look, the fault lies not in you but in the bullies around you. Staying true to yourself and embracing your unique beauty is crucial. Let's reject the notion that physical appearance defines worth and instead focus on building a society that values individuality and kindness.
