Disassociating from heavy drinkers and committing to attending Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) meetings regularly, along with regular therapy, can significantly support your sobriety journey.

For me, the single most important weapon against relapse is the knowledge that alcohol can and will destroy me if I start drinking again. Reflecting on the near-death experience I had from alcohol-induced organ failure is a powerful reminder that sobriety is worth fighting for.
