Is Mike Lindell a Possible Trump VP Pick?

I hope not. There are so many qualified individuals to choose from. Lindell is a "pitchman" from the "Ron Popiel" school of advertising. I’m not sure it would be wise for Trump to pick someone who would be "one heartbeat away from the Presidency" if they aren’t in line with his political views. In my opinion, Donald Trump needs to select a running mate who can attract voters who haven't fully aligned with his political platform. This is a practice that has been used by many politicians and allows them to broaden their appeal and gain additional support.

Demographics and Party Unity

While anything is possible, Trump's political advisors will undoubtedly recommend a running mate who can bring a specific demographic along with them. As an example, during Mike Pence's tenure, his support base consisted of evangelical Christians from the American Midwest and South. Unfortunately, Mike Lindell, who is also known as the "My Pillow Guy," does not have a similar following. This makes it unlikely for him to be a strong add-on to the Trump ticket, as he lacks the necessary demographic support to broaden the appeal of the campaign.

Gritty Realities: Misleading and Financial Troubles

Lindell is indeed a fraud and crook, at least in the eyes of those who have scrutinized his business practices. His commercials were notorious for their annoyance and were far from subtle. It is important to note that both Lindell and Trump share some unsettling traits, such as a fondness for the "Big Lie," financial misconduct, and a history of facing severe legal repercussions for their actions. Both individuals are currently facing financial difficulties, which could further impact the campaign’s credibility and success.

End of an Era: Is This Really a Viable Option?

Let's be honest, either Lindell or Trump would be hard-pressed to effectively manage a major political campaign. Given their current financial situations, both are teetering on the brink of bankruptcy. Lindell’s occasional claim that his products are “Made in America" is one of the few redeeming qualities he has, but it is often overshadowed by his questionable business practices.

The very idea of having both a President and a Vice President who lack the necessary competence and awareness for the role would be disastrous for the country. It is hopeful that a rational approach will prevail, and Trump will rely on his political advisors to recommend a more suitable candidate who can broaden his appeal.

Final Thoughts

It is more than likely that Trump’s advisors will push back on such a suggestion. After all, the last thing Trump needs is a running mate who is a complete mismatch and a potential distraction. If Lindell were to be chosen, it would guarantee another loss, especially considering the financial and legal troubles facing the Trump campaign.

Here's to hoping that common sense prevails, and Donald Trump selects a running mate who can truly take the country forward, rather than further entrenching in misinformation and financial mismanagement.
