Overcoming Binge Eating: A Journey to Liberation
Overcoming Binge Eating: A Journey to Liberation
Understanding the Path to Liberation
I don't believe in 'recovery' from binge eating—I believe in LIBERATION. To me, recovery means you're always dealing with food thoughts in some ways. Liberation means it's totally in the rearview mirror, and you're done with it for good.
As a living proof of this theory, I embarked on a 15-year journey with restrictive diets and eventually found myself eating the entire kitchen. In college, I finally sought help from anxiety therapy. However, I kept the true nature of my eating issues a secret from my therapist.
Seeking Help and Breaking Secrets
Feeling ashamed and mortified, I never told my therapist about my binge eating. Yet, by the time I finished therapy, all my eating disorder behaviors were gone. This was possible because my therapist helped me see the root of my perfectionism and the belief that my worth was tied to my body size.
Transforming Inner Criticism
In therapy, I learned to be more kind and curious with myself, rather than critical. Instead of tearing myself down, I started encouraging myself. This change in mindset allowed me to distance myself from the obsession and madness around food, weight, and body image.
Providing Support and Hope
I became a therapist because I wanted to help others achieve the same liberation I had found. Through my Binge Cure Method, I've been assisting individuals for over 20 years in breaking the cycle of binge eating. No matter how long you've struggled or how bad the situation is, there is always hope!
Personal Experience
For 15 years, I was always on some crazy restrictive diet. Eventually, my willpower gave out, and I found myself eating the kitchen. In college, I sought help from anxiety therapy but kept my true struggles with food a secret. By the time I finished therapy, my eating disorder behaviors were gone.

Empowering Others

While the time it takes to overcome binge eating varies for each individual, I assure you that there is always hope!
If you're struggling with binge eating, consider seeking help from a medical professional or therapist for guidance and support. Overcoming binge eating is possible as long as you recognize that it's not about willpower, control, or addiction—it's a way of coping. Identifying the triggers and learning to respond to yourself differently is what leads to liberation.
