Tradesmen and Women
Eligibility for tradesmen and women is extended to the age of 25. They must have a lower credit in ND/NCE or any relevant trade certificate from reputable Government Institutions/Organizations. A minimum of 2 passes and a credit in English from SSCE/NECO/GCE/NABTEB are required. For drivers, a minimum of 2 passes in SSCE/NECO/GCE/NABTEB with a credit in English and a Trade Test Certificate are required.Sportsmen and Women

Several types of military training courses are offered to train candidates to become qualified members of the Nigerian Air Force:
Regular Combatant Commission
The Regular Combatant Commission is a 5-year intensive military training program at the Nigerian Defence Academy. It is open to young Nigerians between 17 and 21 years old. The training includes 4 years of academic and military training, culminating in a Bachelor's degree and a presidential commission to the rank of Second Lieutenant. The course was male-exclusive until 2011, with the first batch of female students commencing training in September 2011.
Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC)
The Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) offers a six-month intensive military training program for degree holders in specified fields. Successful candidates are commissioned into the rank of Flying Officer.
Basic Military Training Course (BMTC)
The Basic Military Training Course is a short-term training program for airmen and airwomen who do not hold a secondary school certificate, NABTEB, RN/RM/NCE, or City Guild certificate and have a Trade Test Certificate. Training is not typically more than 6 months. The age limit for non-tradesmen is 18-22, while tradesmen can be between 18-25.
