Small Changes That Benefit Long-Term Health: A Personal Journey

After suffering from severe liver damage and other health challenges, my journey to regain my strength involved making small but significant changes in my daily routine. These changes have not only helped me recover, but also provided long-term benefits for my health. Here, I share some of the small changes I made and the positive impact they had on my well-being.

My Health Journey

My health journey began with suffering severe liver damage due to typhoid and later dengue. This led to a sharp decline in my body's immunity and impacted my glands, leading to a diagnosis of thyroid and low vitamin D. Over time, I managed to recover by incorporating certain practices into my daily routine.

One of the key practices was performing hand mudras and bhramri pranayam daily, which helped cure my thyroid. Even though I was not entirely fit for a long time and found it difficult to walk or climb stairs, I gradually increased my daily walking duration to 30-40 minutes or more. Over time, I started taking the stairs when I felt energized enough, and this helped improve my stamina and overall health.

Health Challenges and Recovery

During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, my family and I faced constant intermittent fever, but I focused on my health to recover. I started engaging in more physical activities and household work to build up my stamina. This constant physical activity, along with regular pranayams and breathing exercises, significantly helped in my recovery. Currently, I do not suffer from thyroid issues and feel stronger than before, walking greater distances and faster.

Strategies for Maintaining Long-Term Health

The small changes that helped me regain my health and maintain it include:

Spending time on myself doing things that I enjoy. Walking or doing household work regularly. Listening to divine bhajans or healing frequencies. Prioritizing light exercises or pranayams. Ensuring daily exposure to fresh air and breathing exercises. Avoiding fast food and processed food. Including fruits and vegetables in my diet.

These small changes have had a profound impact on my health and well-being. By prioritizing my physical health, I have been able to regain my strength and lead a more active and fulfilling life. Here are the detailed steps I took:

Spending Time on Myself

Discovering activities I enjoy and allocating time for them is crucial. Whether it’s reading, listening to music, or practicing meditation, taking care of myself has helped me maintain a positive mindset and reduce stress.

Regular Physical Activity

Walking and household work have been central to my health improvement. Even short walks or cleaning can help elevate energy levels and improve circulation. I also ensure to take the stairs when possible to build stamina bit by bit.

Breathing Exercises and Meditation

Bhramri pranayam and hand mudras have been instrumental in my recovery. These practices help with stress reduction, improved circulation, and enhanced overall well-being. Regular breathing exercises, such as the Bhramri, have also helped regulate my heartbeat and reduce physical exhaustion.

Avoiding Harmful Diets

Steering clear of fast food and processed food helps maintain optimal health. Including a variety of fruits and vegetables in my diet provides essential nutrients, supports immunity, and promotes overall health.

Conclusion

My experiences highlight that even small changes in daily habits can lead to significant long-term health benefits. By prioritizing a balanced lifestyle, incorporating physical activity, and remaining consistent with healthy habits, one can improve their quality of life and resilience against future health challenges.

Those who are looking to enhance their health and maintain long-term wellness may find value in the strategies I have shared. Whether it's through regular exercise, mindful breathing, or a healthier diet, these small changes can make a big difference.
