During the challenging period of the lockdown, many individuals faced struggles that led to weight gain, finding it difficult to maintain a healthy lifestyle. However, amidst these difficulties, some compelling success stories emerged, demonstrating how the right approach can help overcome the challenges. This article explores the journey of one such success story, a Work from Home Diet that proved to be a simple yet effective solution during the lockdown.

From Lockdown to Weight Gain

My personal experience during the lockdown period in the USA in 2019 serves as a poignant reminder of the impact of limited physical activities and fear of the unknown. Having to stay indoors and deal with the fear of contracting the virus led to a significant change in my routine. With no outdoor activities, I lost all hope of losing weight, and my body swiftly added pounds. My weight rose to 104 kg by the time I returned to India in February 2021.

The transformation back in India was shocking to my parents, who urged me to take action. It was my mother who suggested the Intermittent Diet, which I affectionately refer to as the Work from Home Diet due to its practicality during the lockdown period.

I limited my eating to within a span of 8 hours each day and spent the rest of the day fasting. Specifically, I had my last breakfast around 10:30 am to 11:00 am and my early dinner between 5:00 pm to 5:30 pm.

Flexible Eating Options

The diet was flexible, allowing me to choose whatever I liked to eat. While there were no specific restrictions, I aimed to avoid sweets and rice. Additionally, to include more nutrients in my diet, I incorporated one cup of beetroot juice in the morning and a glass of coriander juice in the evening.

Simple yet Effective

The simplicity of the diet made it easy to follow and integrate into my daily routine. The key was to maintain the fasting period and ensure that I ate only within the designated 8-hour window. This approach did not require any specific planning or preparation and could be adjusted as needed.

Transformation and Future Goals

Within just five months of following this diet, I managed to lose more than 12 kg. My current weight stands at 90.7 kg, a significant reduction from my peak weight of 104 kg. This achievement brought a renewed sense of purpose and motivation to continue the diet. I plan to maintain this diet for another six months to further reduce my weight to the target range of 80 to 85 kg.

This journey has not only helped me regain control over my physical health but also provided a mental boost. The Work from Home Diet, with its simplicity and adaptability, offers a practical solution for anyone seeking to manage their weight during challenging times.
