The Best Way to Learn Meditation According to Your Type

Hello, there are many great books on meditation, but one widely recommended is Friend. However, if you don’t know your TYPE, there is no best book to learn meditation.

Understanding Your Meditation Type

First, find out your TYPE in the context of meditation. As you begin to diagnose your own unique/individual TYPE, and abilities to do so are directly proportional to the degree of correctness in your diagnosis, relevant events would begin to manifest with you. Relevant books, specific people, occasions, places, visits, and contact with persons you do not know, and relevant short readings/listenings from various sources will all be part of this process.

Guidance for Meditation

You do not require a book to learn meditation, but you do require the guidance of an expert. It's similar to learning how to drive a car; you need a guide and a car. Similarly, if you wish to learn to cook, you need a guide and various ingredients. Meditation falls under the realm of practices where books are not useful. They can only be helpful after you have gained practical experience and want to understand why you experienced what you did during meditation.

How to Start Meditating

Are you truly ready to learn meditation? If so, then don’t just read books but sit down and do it. Here’s a simple method:

Download the Heartfulness application from this site. Request a meditation session with a trainer. Method is simple: Sit comfortably and gently close your eyes. Bring your attention to the area of the heart and rest there. Rest it on the source of light that is already present in your heart and feel it is attracting you inward. If thoughts arise, gently return to point 2.

Tips for Meditation

Tip 1: Do not try to see or imagine light in any form, color, or luminosity.
Tip 2: MOST IMPORTANT: Do not try to concentrate.
Tip 3: Just relax and wait for something to happen. Don't worry if thoughts come; gently remind yourself that you are meditating and go back to point 2.

The session will last about 25-35 minutes. If you have never meditated before or have never managed to sit with closed eyes for more than a few minutes, don't worry. This meditation with a trainer is very unique, and you will be easily able to sit for whatever time the trainer asks you to sit. Your experience will prove what I'm saying.
