The Existence of Immergents Among Us: Beyond Physical Reality

Humans have long been fascinated by the idea of immortals, beings who transcend the physical realm and possess extraordinary abilities. Though many might dismiss such concepts as mere fantasy, centuries of cultural myths and modern explorations suggest that spiritual, mental, and even 'heart and will' immortality may indeed be within our grasp.

Introduction

“Never forget the two abilities that you do have. Humans create universes while asleep and create life while awake. This makes you a god by Webster’s definition.”

Though these powers may seem superhuman, they are within our reach. Let’s delve into the world of immortals, exploring what this really means and how it applies to our lives.

Bank Robbers vs Sages: The Idea of Gaining Divine Powers

One of my favorite teachings is that showing 10 people who walk through walls overnight proves them as new bank robbers, whereas revealing they spent 30 years to achieve this implies they are new sages. This highlights how the acquisition of divine or supernatural powers can either ruin or transform someone's life and perspective.

The lottery curse teaches us that sometimes, too much too quickly can be detrimental. Similarly, acquiring supernatural powers without proper grounding may lead to unforeseen consequences, as seen in the metaphor of a super-human using his abilities to get laid on Tinder, rather than contributing positively to society.

That Dasani Bottle Isn’t Real Frank…

Throughout history, various cultures have believed in mystics, yogis, and wise men who claimed supernatural powers. These claims are often dismissed as mere superstition, but consider this: if you are in the desert and thirsty, you recognize that a mirage is not real, but the fact that you are thirsty is undeniably true. In the same vein, just because we can't scientifically explain supernatural abilities doesn't mean they don't exist; they simply haven't been fully explained yet.

The idea behind Harry Potter magic, or any form of supernatural ability, is that we spend billions of dollars on Hollywood movies and franchises precisely to quench our thirst for magic. This collective pursuit is driven by a deeper psychological need, rooted in our innate desire to understand and connect with something greater than ourselves.

Magic or Science: The Continuum of Understanding

“Physics doesn’t just ‘go away’ when you learn to fly—the field of study merely expands.”

Magic and science are two sides of the same coin. Magic is simply the unknown science of today. When we scientifically explain such phenomena, it no longer remains as magic. If I could achieve levitation and then explained it with psychics, it would no longer be a supernatural phenomenon; it would be understood as a natural one, once explained through empirical evidence.

God’s Image: Hindu Concepts and Biblical Phrasing

“You are the God that you don’t believe in, James.”

The majority of non-believers lack a rational understanding of the word “god.” If we define god as the builder of reality and maker of life, then we are an exact copy of the very god we don't believe in. This definition is rooted in what we do, not who we are. We create universes while asleep and life through sex and procreation.

We can make life through sex, we can build realities through our daily decisions or our nightly dreams. Humans fit the definition of a god, reflecting the Hindu concept of creating reality with amnesia and the Christian tradition of "let us make man in our image."

Every Culture: The Existence of Supernatural Beliefs

“Never forget the human eye can only see 0.0035 of the light spectrum.”

We often dismiss ancient and diverse cultures as silly, but they were not. They believed in and documented supernatural abilities. We can't realistically think that everyone was lying. If people saw ghosts, they did not just see shadows in the moonlight; if they believed in aliens, there is a reason beyond mere imagination.

From ancient Greek myths to modern spiritual teachings, the pursuit of magic and supernatural abilities across different cultures is a testament to our innate human need to understand the world beyond our immediate perception.

Summary

1. **Humans create universes while asleep and create life while awake.** This makes you a god by Webster’s definition.

2. **If you woke up with super powers tomorrow, they would probably ruin you.** Humans are not quick to believe after they acquire immediate power, and may face unintended consequences like the Joker in Gotham.

3. **Magic or science:** The line between magic and science is blurred. As science progresses, many supposed magical experiences may be explained.

4. **“You are the God that you don’t believe in, James.”** Humans have the ability to create and shape reality, making us supernatural in our own right.

5. **The human eye can only see 0.0035 of the light spectrum.** Ancient civilizations believed in supernatural beings and abilities, proving that reality is much stranger than we know.
