Self-harm can be a complex and multifaceted issue, often stemming from deep-seated trauma and internal conflicts that may not have been expressed in words. Whether through visible forms like burning or cutting oneself, or less obvious manifestations like promiscuity, drug abuse, and constant violence, self-harm is often a painful and enduring way individuals cope with unprocessed emotions and experiences.

The Psychology of Self-Harm

In many instances, self-harm is the external manifestation of internalized trauma and conflict. The behaviors can be a result of deep-seated guilt and unresolved traumas that were buried in the memory but never fully addressed. For example, a child who might feel responsible for the death of a sibling due to a tragic accident or fire may turn to self-harm as a way to punish themselves for perceived guilt.

Case Study: A Tragic Incident and Its Consequences

A striking example involves a patient who found themselves leaving a sister behind during a house fire, leading to severe burns and her tragic death. This person never forgave themselves, even though it was an irrational belief. The deep-seated guilt and unresolved trauma drove them to self-harm, a coping mechanism that became a destructive cycle.

By healing my energy body, which had been disturbed at the age of 12 due to a traumatic event, I was able to reframe my past and find peace. This not only alleviated the physical and mental symptoms but also removed the ineffective coping mechanisms and triggers that had plagued me.
