Easygoing: People who are relaxed and adaptable. Listener: Individuals who are willing to listen and not interrupt. Accepting: Folks who are easy to talk to and non-judgmental. Gullible: Those who are naive and can be easily persuaded. Naive: Innocent individuals who often believe what others tell them. Here are the types of people that sociopaths tend to avoid:
Too expressive: People who display excessive emotion and engage in physical intimacy. People who get touchy-feely: Individuals who are overly affectionate and communal in a way that makes them uncomfortable. People who are loud: Excessively talkative individuals who dominate conversations and make noise. People who show off: Those who demonstrate their superiority or achievements in every conversation. People who try to be the center of attention: Those who constantly draw the attention away from others to themselves. People who do small talk: Casual and superficial conversation starters. People who are too sentimental: Those who are overly emotional and appear weak.In general, sociopaths prefer people who are interesting, useful, or entertaining at that specific moment in time.
Psychological Perspective
From a psychological standpoint, sociopaths do not have a clear preference for or against people. They are generally unemotional and maintain a neutral stance in social interactions. They do not bond with others on an emotional level and can easily move on from relationships without feeling significant impact.
Sociopaths have a general disregard for other people's feelings and emotions. Although they might enjoy the company of others, they do not experience a deep emotional connection or attachment to them.
Interestingly, according to the movie "Girl, Interrupted," sociopaths may be particularly fond of people with borderline personality disorder. However, this insight is not supported by medical journals and should be taken with a grain of salt.
Sociopaths are drawn to people who exhibit traits that confirm their delusions and obsessions. These individuals can often feed into their psychological needs or confirm their belief systems.
