The Unlikely Tale of Sergei Skripal: Why a Nerve Agent Rather than a Gun?

Why would Russia attempt to murder Sergei Skripal using a highly incriminating nerve agent when a gun or knife would have been anonymous? Did they want diplomatic confrontation with the UK?

To this date, there has been zero evidence produced to confirm this was the work of the Russian state. Absolutely zero.

What is most curious and instructive is that the Skripals have been imprisoned by the UK government with no access to the outside world whatsoever. No statement. No evidence has been given. Not a single peep out of them. The Skripals are in prison and have been for two years now.

The Bizarre and Nonsensical Explanation

According to the UK government's bizarre and nonsensical explanation, Skripal, who has been a double agent, was convicted of spying for the UK and given 13 years. He was then released after 4 years in an exchange, yes! England has spies too! After his release, Skripal moved to England and lived a life of retirement, no bother anywhere. Eight years later, Putin decided to have him killed in England with a deadly toxin connected to Russia. This was just before Russia was to host the World Cup and Putin was to face elections.

A Line of Thinking to be Ridiculed

This first part of the story makes no sense, unless you believe that so great was the need to scare other potential double agents that Putin was fine to face sanctions, demonization of his country, justification of further information, and economic warfare against his nation. That’s a line of thinking to be rightly ridiculed.

False Passports and Deadly Toxins

Agents sent under allegedly false passports and pictured in the town where the Skripals were found, but not near them, were carrying the Novichok toxin in two perfume bottles which would be enough to kill 800,000 people! Using false passports is likely standard fare for agents of all countries.

Novi?ok is apparently the most deadly weaponised toxin ever created, and not only does Russia probably have some, but also certainly the US, France, and the UK. Interestingly, one of the very places in the UK where this would have been stored is Porton Down, the British weapons lab, not far from Salisbury, where the alleged attack took place.

Questionable Narrative from the UK Propagandists

Some of the rest of the narrative is extremely poor writing from the UK propaganda team. According to their account, the GRU agents with this vial of mega-death toxin engaged in a coke binge with drink and local prostitutes before carrying out their work. It takes a broken dead mind to believe such tripe.

The story of Sergei Skripal and the alleged use of a Novichok nerve agent is fraught with contradictions and questionable narrative elements. Unless one accepts the narrative uncritically, the reasons behind Russia's supposed act and the lack of evidence to back it up remain a mystery.
