Understanding Pain and Suffering: A Journey Beyond Selfish Ego

The people in the most pain are usually the quiet ones who grin and bear it, going about their day. This is true for physical, emotional, and psychological pain. Why? It is easier to bury the pain than to explain how bad it hurts. Most people, even those closest to you, won’t understand or don’t care.

For me, it's physical pain. What good does complaining about it do? My 3-year-old needs daddy to keep doing daddy things, and my wife needs her husband to keep doing husband things. Living in pain can be a very isolated and tiresome existence.

Physical Pain as a Messenger

Pain is our bodyrsquo;s reaction to various bodily disruptions. It signals danger and compels us to act. It warns us to move toward pleasure and away from pain, to diagnose the cause of pain, to form conclusions, and to advance in our lives. Pain impacts our ego and our desire to enjoy at the expense of others. We can feel pain when we feel bad, when we sympathize with others who feel bad, or when the pain of envy strikes us when we see others are better off than us.

There is pain that prods us from behind, making us evolve, and also existential pain that ultimately pulls us forward to greater fulfillment. If we were not capable of experiencing pain, we would feel nothing at all. Pain is the foundational element that allows us to feel pleasure, fulfillment, and joy. Whether it is a certain kind of conflict, contact, or pressure, our every feeling is built upon a certain form of pain, and only after experiencing pain can we derive pleasure, fulfillment, and enjoyment.

Overcoming Pain through Selflessness

However, we can overcome pain. When we rise above the ego—when we ascend beyond prioritizing self-interest at the expense of others to its opposite, prioritizing the benefit of others—we can live in complete fulfillment without emptiness. Here, we relate to everything and everyone out of an ever-increasing wholeness and love. This is a journey of transcendence that goes beyond the boundaries of selfish egoistic desires, setting us free from the isolated and tiresome existence of pain.

Aksandra's Insight: Infinite Energy and Knowledge

Imagine you are part of an infinite energy that is everywhere and lasts forever. You are contained by your body but still an energy being. You are here to gather any knowledge. This understanding can help us deal with pain and suffering, sensations of sadness and joy, happiness and other emotions. When you pass, the knowledge contained in your energy goes back to the whole. This is how I deal with it, for everything is a learning experience.

So, whether you are grappling with pain and suffering or seeking fulfillment and joy, understand that this journey is not solely about the self. It is about transcending the limitations of the ego to find deeper fulfillment and a sense of connection with the world around you. This is a path of growth and self-discovery, where each experience, whether joyful or painful, is a valuable lesson.

Remember, the key to overcoming pain is to prioritize the well-being of others. By doing so, you can experience a profound sense of fulfillment and joy that transcends the isolated and tiresome existence of pain. Embrace the journey, and let each experience be a step towards greater love and understanding.
