Understanding Third Eye Opening: A Beginner’s Journey
As a beginner in third eye meditation, the journey towards opening the forehead chakra (third eye) is both humbling and enlightening. I have been meditating for a long time, but the concept of third eye opening, especially the traditional teachings, can be quite puzzling. According to authentic teachings, the third eye, or the 6th Chakra/ Ajna/ Christ Consciousness Center, will not open until one attains a level of spiritual advancement equivalent to that of Jesus—egolessness, self-mastery, wisdom, and compassion overriding personal desires. This process, it is said, may take countless lifetimes. Therefore, it is a spiritual self-protection mechanism to prevent premature opening.
My experience, on the other hand, came as a complete surprise. In mid-August 2023, I had three spontaneous experiences happen in a single night. I am a beginner and had never meditated before, nor did I know what third eye opening meant. I had never heard of Kundalini energy or enlightenment, yet I experienced all three. I have posted about my experience under various Kundalini questions, detailing the physical, visual, and auditory aspects of this remarkable journey. Spontaneous Third Eye Opening
During both of my third eye opening events, which happened in the summer of 2018, I slipped into a DMT trance state without performing any meditation rituals. In fact, the topic was the furthest thing from my mind when the experiences occurred. The Serpent Fire of the Universe energy, which is also referred to as sekhem/kundalini, made me feel very awake and alert just prior to the events. The first time, I was initially concerned, thinking it might be a heart attack symptom. However, the experience was not unpleasant but rather odd and mysterious.
During the trance, I sensed the veil between realities rippling, and I was able to stare into a hole or a roundish-shaped rip in a membranous wall. My peripheral vision confirmed that this phenomenon extended beyond the edge of my sight. The sekhem energy felt very clear and was rapidly dissipating, creating a sense of urgency to see everything around me. My eyes felt enormous and voracious as I stared into the third eye portal. I vividly memorized the details until the sekhem energy diminished, and I found myself back in my normal state.
Post-encounter, the tingling, "awake" sensation of the Serpent Fire sekhem energy lingered for several days. The experience profoundly affected me, and I felt an intense excitement, mentally reviewing the event over and over. To bear witness in the name of Allah, I recall these events as 100% true, to the best of my ability. I feel extremely fortunate and blessed to have experienced it.
My high-functioning autism has often limited my social interactions, making me see everything in black and white, right or wrong. Nonetheless, I believe these experiences are real and possible for anyone, regardless of their spiritual journey. If you are interested in exploring your own third eye potential or feel a connection to the phenomenon, I hope you are able to experience it too!
Conclusion
Understanding third eye opening can be a transformative journey, both personally and spiritually. As a beginner, my encounters with the third eye reaffirm the importance of seeking truth and connecting with one's inner self. Whether you are a spiritual beginner or an advanced practitioner, the journey is filled with wonder and profound realizations.
